Thomas Aquinas, on Isa 28:2
Thomas Aquinas · 1225–1274
Isa 28:2 · Douay-Rheims
“Behold the Lord is mighty and strong, as a storm of hail: a destroying whirlwind, as the violence of many waters overflowing, and sent forth upon a spacious land.”
On this verse:
“635. Second, he threatens punishment: behold the Lord is mighty; and concerning this, he does two things. First, he sets out the strength of the enemy: behold, mighty, as to the strength of the enemy, whom he will send in; as a storm of hail, as to their multitude, above: nations shall make a noise like the noise of waters (Isa 17:13).”
