Oecumenius, on Acts 12:7

Oecumenius · c. A.D. 550
Acts 12:7 · Douay-Rheims
“And behold an angel of the Lord stood by him: and a light shined in the room: and he striking Peter on the side, raised him up, saying: Arise quickly. And the chains fell off from his hands.”
On this verse:
“He says that it shone so that they could both see and hear Peter and not think it a vision. The phrase "quickly [ἐν τάχει]" does not mean making a noise, but persuading not to delay. [CHRYSOSTOM]”
