Adam Clarke, on Lam 2:6

Adam Clarke · 1762–1832
Lam 2:6 · Douay-Rheims
“Vau. And he hath destroyed his tent as a garden, he hath thrown down his tabernacle: the Lord hath caused feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Sion: and hath delivered up king and priest to reproach, and to the indignation of his wrath.”
On this verse:
“As if it were of a garden - "As it were the garden of his own hedging." - Blayney. The Lord hath caused the solemn feasts - By delivering us up into the hands of the enemy our religious worship is not only suspended, but all Divine ordinances are destroyed.”
