“Where there are no oxen, the crib is empty: but where there is much corn, there the strength of the ox is manifest.”
On this verse:
“Empty. As the land has not been cultivated. (Haydock) — Strength, or number of oxen. (Calmet) — “The virtue of the preachers is manifested where there are many converted to produce fruit.” (St. Gregory vii. ep. viii.)”
