" Keeping the Sabbath, and not profaning it" The observance of the Sabbath was a necessary duty of the Mosaic dispensation. It may he here spoken of as one of the many positive precepts. The Christian people should worship in spirit at all times, but especially on the Lord's day. St. Jerome thinks that the spiritual Sabbath, which consists in abstaining from sin, is especially had in view, as he infers from the following clause.
