Romans 2:1 Douay-Rheims

Wherefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest. For wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself. For thou dost the same things which thou judgest.

Francis Patrick Kenrick

1796–1863 Catholic

The approvers — those who sanction evil. "He that applauds the sin is far more guilty than he who commits it." St. Chrysostom. G. P. " not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." The Vulgate reading is found in St. Augustin: " he signifies that whatsoever things they may have done, not unwillingly, but by consenting to evil deeds, they approve of those things which they did : and therefore in reference to sins which are already committed, he says : ' Wherefore thou art inexcusable, 0 man, whosoever thou art who judgest.'
