Pseudo-Chrysostom — as excerpted in the Catena Aurea on Matthew 3:11-12

Patristic
Pseudo-Chrysostom
“Or, by the feet of Christ we may understand Christians, especially the Apostles, and other preachers, among whom was John Baptist; and the shoes are the infirmities with which he loads the preachers. These shoes all Christ’s preachers wear; and John also wore them; but declares himself unworthy, that he might shew the grace of Christ, and be greater than his deserts.”
