1 John 3:10 Douay-Rheims

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil. Whosoever is not just, is not of God, nor he that loveth not his brother.

Cyprian

c. A.D. 200–258 Patristic

That charity and brotherly affection are to be religiously and stedfastly practised. ...Of this same thing in the Epistle of John: "In this appear the children of God and the children of the devil.
