Woe to you that are wealthy in Sion, and to you that have confidence in the mountain of Samaria: ye great men, heads of the people, that go in with state into the house of Israel.

P. " At ease." L. " Free from care." The term is understood of those that enjoy security, being fearless of danger. Those of Sion are first addressed : afterwards those of Samaria. St Jerome under- stands the Hebrew of persons living in ease and abundance. Luke 6 : 24.
