Philo, the Jew, speaks of him as sacrificing in thanksgiving for the victory : imvucta l$vc. All the fathers recognize in the bread and wine types of the Eucharistic sacrifice by Christ, the priest forever after the manner of Melchizedek. St Cyprian exclaims :
