He bids them leave to His providence the regulation of what regards themselves, who are His chil- dren. 8t Jerome thus explains it : " Since I, the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, have formed Cyrns. and he is born by My order, yon give yourselves needless trouble, doubting about things to come : on the contrary, yon should know that I regulate my children, the people of Israel, and the work of My hands, not by your pleasure, but according to My own will, having created for them before, evil and darkness, and giving them now light and peace."
