For the arrows of the Lord are in me, the rage whereof drinketh up my spirit, and the terrors of the Lord war against me.

The term signifies heat, rage, poison. As a man wounded with a poisoned arrow, he feels burnt up by the poison which penetrates his veins. The rage is the restless state thereby produced. Exhaustion Is the result of the latent working of the poison.
