Mich. V. 2 ; John vii. 4.2. The sacrcJ writers often quote the old Testament freely, giving the sense, without adhering strictly to the words. There is no negation in the prophet ; but the sense is the same, since Bethlehem was in itself of no consideration ; but when honored by the presence of our Lord, it became greater in dignity than the larger cities.
