Psalm 16:8 Douay-Rheims

I set the Lord always in my sight: for he is at my right hand, that I be not moved.

Francis Patrick Kenrick

1796–1863 Catholic

Although what precedes seems directly applicable to tlie psalmist, rather than to Christ, these words are expressly applied to Him by St. Peter: "for David said concerning Him : I foresaw the Lord always before my face." Acts ii. 25. We may conceive the psalmist in a transport of spirit, passing from the consideration of his own case to the contemplation of Christ. This sudden transition is no way strange in an inspired writer.
