Psalm 138:6 Douay-Rheims

Thy knowledge is become wonderful to me: it is high, and I cannot reach to it.

Francis Patrick Kenrick

1796–1863 Catholic

The translation of this passage by St. Jerome is to this effect: "Before and behind Thon hast formed me." The creative action is referred to, with a view to- show the divine omniscience, God being thoroughly acquainted with His own work. P. "Thou hast beset me." This intimates that nothing can escape the knowledge of God.
