These epithets contain a climax. The will of God is good in itself. We should obey the Divine commandments, and aspire after perfection, doing always what may be more agreeable to God. Eph. v. 17; 1 Thess. iv. 3. St. Chry- sostom thinks that the apostle refers to the Christian code, as contrasted with the Jewish.
