Esth 7:3 · Douay-Rheims
“Then she answered: If I have found Favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please thee, give me my life for which I ask, and my people for which I request.”
On this verse:
“may my life be given me that I should not be slain on the thirteenth of Adar, for you have issued an edict of massacre upon my people and my kindred. and my people shall be given me in my request, that they should not be slain. Now if you ask, “What does it concern you?” (below 8:6): “For how can I see, etc.?””
