Rashi, on Ezek 16:43

Rashi · 1040–1105
Ezek 16:43 · Douay-Rheims
“Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast provoked me in all these things: wherefore I also have turned thy ways upon thy head, saith the Lord God, and I have not done according to thy wicked deeds in all thy abominations.”
On this verse:
“behold Heb. הֵא, like הִנֵה. yet you did not make a plan Although I have given your way on your head, you have not made a plan to ponder your abominations, to repent of them. Every זִמָה in Scripture is an expression of counsel, sometimes for good and sometimes for bad.”

Hebrew and Aramaic words are the commentator’s citations of the sacred text; the English translation that follows each is the translator’s.
