Isaiah 48:3
Douay-Rheims
The former things of old I have declared, and they went forth out of my mouth, and I have made them to be heard: I did them suddenly and they came to pass.
Ibn Ezra
I have declared, etc. God will say to the unbelievers, Have I not often foretold you coming events before they happened (ראשנות)? The past tense is therefore used : and they came to pass.
Hebrew and Aramaic words are the commentator’s citations of the sacred text; the English translation that follows each is the translator’s.
