Ps 21:11 · Douay-Rheims
“I was cast upon thee from the womb. From my mother’s womb thou art my God,”
On this verse:
“Upon Thee I was cast from the womb: – for Thou art He who fed my mother with her sustenance, so that she could feed and bring me up. I was cast: the one who actually “casts” is the father and the mother, for he (the child) has not himself the understanding to cast his burden upon God. And so From my mother's womb my God art Thou: – for they confess Thee on my behalf.”
