Chapter 13

Ezekiel 13

L. " Among the ruins." Foxes everywhere commit ravages ; false prophets, in like manner, 4 n crease the desolation by their seductive speeches. The crafty aud timid character of foxes is exemplified in fri** prophets, who flee in time of danger.

This interpretation is supported by Chald. P. "They have made others to hope that they would confirm the word." L. " They make others hope for the fulfilment of the word.'*

Efforts tor defence without a sincere return to God, who alone can give success, are compared to erecting a wall of stone without mortar to temper and unite it.
