II. P. " I heard a language that I understood not." St. Jerome agrees. The Psalmist speaks in the name of the Israelites, when sojourners in Egypt, where they heard a language unknown to their fathers. They preserved their own tongue during their bondage, and went forth from the midst of a people of a strange tongue. Ps. cxiii.
