The sacrifice of an ox, under the Christian dispensation, is a crime, since God no longer wishes to be worshipped after this fashion. Under the Mosaic law persons offering sacrifice might incur the Divine anger on account of their perverse dispositions, so that the act of sacrifice might prove offensive to God, like the crime of murder.
